What is Auracast?

What is Auracast?

Auracast™ is a Bluetooth technology that allows compatible hearing aids, earbuds, and headphones to receive sound directly from a venue’s audio system.

At participating venues, you can listen to announcements, live commentary, presentations, and more through your compatible device. The audio you hear depends on what the venue is broadcasting.

Find Your Hearing Aid Manufacturer

Open your manufacturer’s section to check your model and learn how to connect. Compatibility depends on the exact model, style, software, and app.

Before you connect: use the latest app and required hearing-aid firmware. Your hearing care professional can help with updates.

Don’t see your model? Check with your manufacturer or Hearing Consultants of Colorado Springs. Bluetooth support alone does not confirm Auracast compatibility.

A webpage QR code and a broadcast QR code do different jobs

The QR code that opened this webpage is a link to these instructions. A broadcast QR code contains the details your listening app needs to join the venue’s audio. Ask staff for that separate code when required.

Other Ways to Listen

Headphones and Earbuds

Auracast isn’t just for hearing aids. Some compatible wireless headphones, earbuds, and personal receivers can also receive a venue’s broadcast. Check that your exact device supports receiving Auracast, then follow the manufacturer’s connection instructions. Ordinary Bluetooth or LE Audio support alone is not enough.

Cochlear Implants and Other Listening Devices

Compatibility varies by sound processor, software, and accessories. Check your manufacturer’s current guidance or ask your hearing care professional before trying to connect. Some setups need a compatible accessory.

Need Another Listening Option?

Ask venue staff whether they offer an Auracast receiver, headphones, or another assistive listening system. Availability depends on the venue.

Having Trouble Connecting?

Can’t find the broadcast?

Ask staff to confirm that the broadcast is on, check its name, and move within the venue’s listening area. Make sure your hearing aids are connected to the correct app.

The app has no Auracast option?

Confirm your exact device and style support Auracast, and check for app and hearing-aid updates. Your hearing care professional can help check the required firmware.

A QR code or password isn’t working?

Ask staff for the current broadcast QR code or password. The QR code that opens this webpage does not contain the venue’s audio connection details.

Connected but no sound?

Check the app’s streaming volume and ask staff whether audio is being broadcast. Follow your manufacturer’s troubleshooting guide if the problem continues.
