Jul 25, 2025

Michael Iliff, Au.D., CCC-A

Dr. Katie Williams is an embodiment of passion and expertise in the field of audiology. Her journey began with a personal connection to hearing loss, having witnessed its profound impact within her family.

"I have a lot of hearing loss in my family, so I grew up seeing how deeply it can impact communication and connection," Dr. Williams recalls.

Her personal insight ignited her lifelong commitment to helping others maintain their relationships and quality of life through improved hearing.

Educational Background and Early Ambitions

Dr. Williams's educational pursuits laid a robust foundation for her career.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Disorders from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and advanced to receive her Doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.) from Salus University at Drexel in 2012.

Her rigorous training equipped her with the skills and knowledge to excel in her profession, which is something your fellow patients and all our team members are incredibly grateful for!

Joining the Hearing Consultants

Dr. Williams joined Hearing Consultants six years ago, drawn by our nurturing, family-oriented environment that prioritizes both patient care and professional growth.

"I came to Hearing Consultants for the opportunity to expand my skill set and use my full scope of practice," she states.

The clinic’s family-owned nature and our dedication to valuing both patients and providers resonated deeply with her, and the support and teamwork provide her a platform to flourish.

Professional Growth and Patient Care

Already a well-established clinician when she joined our practice, Dr. Williams has continued to expand her expertise, gaining extensive experience with cochlear implants, bone-anchored devices, and tinnitus therapies such as Lenire. Over the years, her role has grown as she consistently builds on her skills and strives to deliver the highest standard of care.

The Heart of Her Practice

Dr. Williams's approach to patient care is anchored in empathy and education.

She explains, "I take a gentle, educational approach. I acknowledge patients’ concerns and make sure they feel empowered, not pressured.”

This philosophy extends to her success in treating patients who might be apprehensive about hearing loss or hearing aids, transforming their anxieties into informed decisions through demonstrations and thorough understanding.

Among her numerous success stories, one particular patient stands out: a grandfather hearing his grandson’s voice for the first time in years.

"After he received a cochlear implant and a hearing aid, he got emotional, just overwhelmed with gratitude. Those moments are why I do what I do," Dr. Williams shares.

These heartening experiences reinforce her belief in consistency, honesty, and genuine care, forming the crux of her lasting relationships with patients.

Reflecting on Six Years and Looking Forward

Dr. Williams prides herself on the trust she's built and the comprehensive care delivered to every patient throughout her tenure at Hearing Consultants. She advocates for a work culture that is "fun, collaborative, and supportive," valuing a workspace where team members care for each other's success as much as they do for their patients. Looking ahead, she is excited about the possibilities that evolving technology brings, and striving to mentor new audiologists and contribute to the clinic’s growth.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Williams treasures her time with family, often exploring the great outdoors with her husband and two sons. Whether hiking or biking, she finds peace in nature, further complemented by her love for yoga and quality downtime spent with good food and great company.

Expect Excellence With Hearing Consultants

As audiology continues to advance, Dr. Katie Williams remains at the forefront, eager to embrace recent technologies and mentor the next generation of audiologists.

Through her expertise and compassionate care, Dr. Williams continues to make a significant impact, reminding us of all the profound connections that better hearing can foster!
